The Toxics Directory is a service to help you locate information. A driving force behind The Toxics Directory is to help public health and governmental officials with their work, but it is also to get health and environmental information into the hands of active citizens and groups and to help those people connect and share information, ideas, and assistance. The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) supports the public's right-to-know and hopes that this directory will contribute to the public's understanding of environmental issues.
The agencies and organizations that are included in the directory met the following criteria when added:
- The site provides information primarily about the health effects of toxic chemicals in the environment.
- The site is not primarily a commercial site or a fundraising site.
- The site is not concerned primarily with lobbying for a political agenda.
The information presented does not attack or disparage any individuals by name. OEHHA plans to keep the directory updated at least annually. Due to the dynamic nature of the Internet, the location and content of the linked sites may change as menus and homepages are reorganized. It may not be feasible for OEHHA to promptly remove a listed organization or a link to a site that no longer meets the criteria specified here.
Inclusion of any organization in the directory does not imply any official OEHHA endorsement. Furthermore, OEHHA does not accept any responsibility for the opinions, ideas, data, or products presented by these organizations, or guarantee the validity of the information provided. OEHHA does not guarantee the suitability of the information for any specific purpose.
Links to non-OEHHA servers are provided solely as a pointer to information on topics related to health and environmental protection that may be useful to OEHHA staff and the public.
The following OEHHA World Wide Web disclaimers of liability and endorsement apply to all Toxics Directory pages and information.
