On
November 15, 2000,
the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) held
a public workshop to solicit input on the proposed process for
developing safe harbor numbers. The workshop was well attended
and several written and oral comments were received. OEHHA considered
all comments and prepared a document that summarizes the issues
raised and discusses OEHHA's responses. Many of the comments received
were reflected as changes in the "Process
for Developing Safe Harbor Numbers" document and the
"Proposition 65 Status
Report on No Significant Risk Levels for Carcinogens and Maximum
Allowable Daily Levels for Chemicals Causing Reproductive Toxicity."
OEHHA hereby announces the availability of these three documents;
the summary of issues raised and discussions, the process document,
and the status report. Copies of the documents are available from
the OEHHA Web site at www.oehha.ca.gov or from the Proposition
65 Implementation office at Post Office Box 4010
Sacramento, CA 95812-4010 or by calling (916) 445-6900.
