EXTENSION OF THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD ON THE DRAFT REPORT, “CUMULATIVE IMPACTS: BUILDING A SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION” TO SEPTEMBER 23, 2010

On August 19, 2010, the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) and the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) announced the availability of a draft report entitled, “Cumulative Impacts: Building a Scientific Foundation”. The report presents scientific evidence for cumulative impacts from multiple pollution sources, a framework for a new screening methodology for use by the Cal/EPA boards and departments, and next steps in the implementation of the framework.

For those wishing to provide comment on the draft report, OEHHA is now extending the deadline for submitted comments to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010. Cal/EPA and OEHHA will consider all comments received by this time and make revisions as appropriate before releasing the final report.

We encourage you to submit comments in electronic form, rather than in paper form. Comments transmitted by e-mail should be addressed to Ms. Jocelyn Suero of OEHHA staff at jsuero@oehha.ca.gov.
