Exposure Factor Report Descriptions

For each exposure factor endpoint type (first column on the left), a series of endpoint values is presented in the next four columns. These fields are the:

  • Endpoint Value: the mean value or other numerical or textual description for the exposure factor, as specified in the citation. The term, "see citation," indicates that exposure factor values are presented in a figure. "Review" indicates the citation is a secondary source that contains a collection of exposure factor values.
  • Error: the error term associated with the endpoint value, if reported (SE = standard error of the mean; SD = standard deviation of the mean; 95% CI = 95% confidence interval for the mean).
  • Range: the minimum and maximum values for the endpoint value, if reported
  • Units: associated units for the endpoint value, error or range values.

The next three columns contain the additional information about the dataset: the Sex and Life Stage of the animals that were studied and the Location of the study [laboratory (Lab) or California county; CA or state/country]. The lettered Note contains a string of the remaining description and remarks for the dataset. Some of these fields may be blank for a particular dataset and will not appear in the Note. The order of information in the Note are as follows:

  1. Description: a more specific textual description of the endpoint that was measured
  2. Sample Size (N=): the number of animals from which data were collected
  3. Age-Specific (Age=): the age of the animal at the time data were collected
  4. Condition (Condition =): modifying factors that may influence the exposure factor such as activity, breeding or feeding status
  5. Season/Month: time of year data were collected
  6. Location-Specific: the location where the data or animals were collected
  7. Remarks: general comments about the dataset.
