The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is
soliciting public comments on the Scientific Review Panel review
draft document, Air Toxics Hot Spots Program
Risk Assessment Guidelines Part II: Technical Support Document for
Determining Cancer Potency Factors. OEHHA is especially
interested in comments on the sections of the document that have
been substantially revised or added following public comments on
the previous document version. Those sections include the Preface,
Introduction, Unit Risk And Cancer Potency Values table, Regulatory
Agency Risk Assessment Methodologies, Chemical-Specific Information
Summaries for Hydrazine and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), and
Appendix G.
This draft document is part of a series of Risk Assessment Guidelines
that are being developed by OEHHA for use in implementing the Air
Toxics "Hot Spots" Program mandated by the Air Toxics
Hot Spots Information and Assessment Act of 1987, as amended. The
draft document will be distributed for public review on October
31, 1997 (available on the OEHHA Home Page at http://www.oehha.org/).
The distribution of the document will commence a 30-day public review
period that will end on December 1, 1997. Printed copies may
be obtained for a fee from Copy World, 2154 University Ave., Berkeley,
CA 94704 [phone (510) 849-9701, fax (510) 849-9704]. It is anticipated
that initial review of this document by the Scientific Review Panel
will occur in early December, 1997.
