Margie Leary
Margie Leary serves as the Deputy Director of Administration for the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment. Since assuming this position in April 1998, Ms. Leary has been responsible for managing OEHHA's budget, accounting, personnel, contracts, business services and information technology functions.
Ms. Leary's State career began in 1974 as an Office Assistant with the Department of Motor Vehicles. In 1976 she transferred to the California Energy Commission and promoted to the analyst series within the budget office in 1981.
Initiating her 14-year, three department career with the California Environmental Protection Agency, Ms. Leary transferred to the Department of Toxic Substances Control in 1986 and was promoted to Budget Officer in 1990. Ms. Leary served in this capacity until 1995 when she accepted the position of Chief of the Resources Management Branch within the Department of Pesticide Regulation. Ms. Leary was responsible for five units, including budgets, accounting, personnel, contracts and business services.
Ms. Leary is a California native and has lived in Sacramento since 1961.
